Where did June go?

Where has the last month gone. I keep writing updates and post in my head but they don't make it down on paper.

We have had our busy days/weeks. Days seem to be running together lately.

I think our busiest week would be June 16th - June 25th.

Saturday, the 16th was a busy day for me. I started the day early helping a friend move. Carrie and I were roommates, I was in her wedding two months ago, she and nick found a nice cute house to rent so made way too many trips up and down the stairs at their apartment moving things. Saturday afternoon, I had a meeting with several other ladies who sell Thirty-One products. (I recently started selling thirty one products, I'll do another post on this later.)

Sunday, June 17th, (Father's Day) we headed over to Colin's parents. We enjoyed our visit with them and going out to eat for dinner. Sunday night, when changing Colin's leg bandage, I noticed his leg was not looking as good as it has been. So I took pictures and sent an email to his case manager at shepherd who is our contact for Dr. Simon.

Monday, June 18th, we enjoyed breakfast with Colin's mom before hitting the road to mobile. Colin had a 12:20 appointment with his general practitioner for his 3 month check up. Colin had been having some pretty bad chest pains over the weekend that we thought might be a result of pneumonia. Colin got an EKG to rule out his heart, the doctor listed to the congestion in his lungs and ruled he did have a chest cold and order an X-ray and antibiotics. We never heard anything back about the X-ray so we are assuming Colin just had a bad chest cold and no pneumonia. Exciting moment of the day was locking myself out of the house! Colin laid down to rest after his appointment and I answered the front door. One of the neighborhood kids was offering to cut the grass and I pulled the front door to too much. Oops!! Locked out! Colin can't get out of bed and into his chair by himself so he couldn't let me in. Thankfully our neighbors were home, let me use their phone and hang out til my sister ashley could come rescue me with a spare key. Oh, we also heard back from colins doctor asking if we could be in Atlanta for Wednesday at 1.

Tuesday, June 19th, I had several things to get done before we headed up to Atlanta. Having to make an unexpected trip to Atlanta shuffled some things around. We had one of the best drives up to Atlanta. No traffic and no bad weather!

Wednesday, June 20th, was kinda crazy! Check out from the hotel was 12 but we knew we had to valet the car because it was downtown Atlanta so we decided to check out around 11 to avoid any lunch rush coming to eat at the restaurants at the hotel. We headed towards shepherd so we would be close for the 12:30 check in. I stopped by subway to grab us some sandwiches. As I was checking my phone (at 11:24!!) I received an email from our case manager saying dr simon had to change his schedule for the day and would only be seeing patients til noon!!! Turned right around and headed for the car, drove across the street to shepherd, ran inside while I left the car and Colin out front, and went to find out what was going on. Sure enough, dr Simon was only going to be there 30 more minutes so we quickly parked the car and rushed into the outpatient clinic. Colin's legs had began to look better by this point. Dr Simon said he was very concerned from the pictures but we were both glad it had started to look better. He decided to go ahead and remove some of the stitches and graph that would eventually fall off on its own so he could check it since he knew we are so far away from Atlanta. Dr Simon refers to it as "15 minutes away". So after all the craziness and running around we were on the road home. And thankfully had another uneventful trip!!

Thursday, June 21st was a little less crazy! I worked on my moms birthday present and made some baked goods.

Moms birthday present. Dad and I made scrabble names of us kids for mom. Dad cut the blocks, I painted all the letters. And dad hanging it in its final spot.

Friday, June 22, we headed up to Jackson to spend a few days. My moms birthday was the 25th but we had to be back in mobile for an appointment.

We had a great visit with my family. We went out to eat Mexican food, made a trip to Lowes, enjoyed church with the family, homemade peach ice cream, went to a fundraiser garage sale and had lots of time together!

Sunday after lunch we headed back to mobile.

Monday, June 25, Colin had a check up appointment with his doctor who did his shoulder surgery. Dr Lurate checked out Colin's shoulder and said it has healed nicely. We weren't sure if we were going to make it to this appointment in Pensacola because of a little storm called debby but thankfully Pensacola just got a great deal of wind.

That's pretty much all of our eventful days. Most other days have been filled with me working on my masters classes which don't leave much time for "fun" activities, trips or adventures.

July 4th was a VERY rainy day. We went and ate BBQ for dinner but it was super cloudy and still kinda misty so we ended up watching the capital fourth special on PBS and enjoying fireworks over Washington DC.

Oh, I almost forgot, we dropped Colin's car off to be modified last week! Super exciting!! The plan is to have it all modified before we head on the Lacy family summer vacation trip in a few weeks. I'll post pictures of the car once it's modified. I'm not sure who is more excited about Colin being able to drive, me or him!
